It got its name from the pieces of volcanic tuff found in the soil, which the locals call it because of its resemblance to wasp nests. From this mineral-rich rock, the wine acquires a mineral flavor, complemented by the distinctive acidity of Furmint and the flavors aged during wooden barrel maturation, quince and pear.
